(University Doctoral and Habilitation Council)
What is UDHC?
The University Doctoral and Habilitation Council (UDHC) performs jointly the duties of the doctoral council defined by law and the duties of the habilitation council determined in the habilitation procedure. The main responsibilities of the UDHC are the following:
- giving opinion on proposals for the establishment and dissolution of doctoral schools;
- may set up disciplinary doctoral and habilitation councils (DDHC);
- shall elect the heads of the doctoral schools, and appoint and dismiss the members of the doctoral school councils;
- shall approve the operating rules and quality reports of the doctoral schools;
- shall develop guidelines for the uniform requirements for the admission procedure and shall decide on the admission of students;
- shall approve the rules, fees and procedure of the doctoral programme, the obtaining of a doctoral degree, the habilitation, the comprehensive examination;
- shall decide on the initiation of the procedure for obtaining the doctoral degree, the naturalisation and revocation of the doctoral degrees;
- shall decide on the initiating a habilitation procedure and awarding the title of doctor with habilitation;
- shall give an opinion on the proposals for awarding the title of honorary doctor or the title of honorary doctor and professor;
- decides in appeal and ethical issues.
